This portfolio is a representation of my growth and accomplishments during my student teaching placement at Central Dauphin High School, Harrisburg, PA. In this placement, I taught Jazz Band 11, Jazz Band 12, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, two Music Theory I classes, and assisted in marching band instruction. The following project showcases a 3 day mini-unit with the Period 1, Music Theory I class. The overall goal is for students to apply an advanced conceptual understanding of rhythms to a performance context. By the end of this mini-unit, students will be able to read and perform new rhythm examples with complete rhythmic accuracy. Detailed lesson plans were completed, implemented, and revised. The mini-unit provided countless opportunities for reflection and adjustment. My Student Teaching Portfolio was completed in pursuit of my BME degree from Susquehanna University.
